What is Speak Week?

Speak Week is a whole week dedicated to hearing YOUR voice, organised by your Students’ Union Vice-President Education.

Your Vice-President Education and indeed the Students’ Union, wants to get your feedback about all aspects of your university experience - lectures, timetables, assessments, food, accommodation, learning spaces, library resources, placement support... if you've got an opinion on it, we want to hear it. The more feedback we gather, the more accurately we can represent students and make sure your Aston experience is as good as it can be.

Why does it matter?

The responses we receive from you during Speak Week helps us to understand what Aston students need and how we can enhance your experience at Aston. We also use your responses to feedback to the University, so they also understand what Aston students’ needs are – whether that is related to your academics, campus life, student activities/voice and/or accommodation related.

The Speak Week survey is open from Monday 15th to Friday 19th 2021. It will take you less than 5 minutes to fill out the survey! By filling out the survey, you will be entered into a prize draw:

  • For every 100 voices raised using Speak Week survey, we will do a prize draw for 5X £10 food and drink vouchers at the Lounge
  • After 500 forms- for every 100 voices raised we will do prize draw for 10X Free Hoodie giveaways at the SU Shop
  • After 1500 forms- For every 100 voices raised we will do prize draws for 5X free hoodie giveaways + one other item of clothing at the SU shop

A message from your Vice-President Education 2021-22:

Hello!

My name is Yesmeen Singh and I am your Vice-President Education 2021-22.

I believe Speak Week is the most important time of the year because during this week, we as students get a chance to tell the university how we feel about the services provided by them. The feedback we provide during Speak Week helps to improve our learning experience on all aspects including lectures, assessments, learning spaces and much more.

It is important that as students we take part in this week and tell the university what is lacking, what we want more of and how our student experience can be improved!

If you have any queries you can email me at vp.education@union.aston.ac.uk.

Yesmeen Singh
