FAQs

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED!

WHAT'S ALL THIS ABOUT?

Aston Students' Union is a democratic membership organisation. This means that it exists to serve its members (which are Aston students), and that members (also Aston students!) are elected to run it. By voting in the elections you can have a direct impact on how the SU is run!

During this election, 4 Presidents will be elected to lead the organisation. Becoming political leaders, trustees and staff members of the SU.

CAN I VOTE?

If you're an Aston student, then almost definitely. You must have opted in to Aston Students' Union membership - although if you haven't, or are unsure, you can check on opt in on MAP. There is no charge to be a member of Aston Students' Union.
Please note: If you are an OnCampus and CEG student you will NOT be eleigible to vote.

HOW DO I VOTE?

To vote in the elections you will need to log in with your Student ID. Choose the candidate you would like to vote for. Then submit your vote. Click here to vote.
Remember you can vote for multiple positions but only one candidate for each position.

WHO IS R.O.N?

R.O.N or Re-open nominations is not a candidate but an option there for you if you feel there are no suitable candidates for the role. By voting R.O.N you can vote to re-open nominations. In this instance if R.O.N gains the most votes the election for that position may be rerun.
