Never Ovary-Acting

A campaign to end period poverty by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest line of sanitary pads and donating them to those in need.

At Aston SU, we are passionate about fighting period poverty and ensuring that everyone has access to essential hygiene products. Our "Never Ovary-Acting" campaign is a bold initiative designed to raise awareness about the struggles many face when it comes to affording menstrual products. But this campaign isn’t just about awareness—it’s about action.

A few years ago, Aston University Students' Union proudly held the Guinness World Record for the longest line of sanitary pads, an event that not only highlighted the issue of period poverty but also made a tangible impact by donating the collected pads to people in need. Unfortunately, that record was recently broken by someone else, and now we’re determined to reclaim it!

This year, we’re setting our sights on taking back the title. As part of "Never Ovary-Acting," we will once again attempt to create the longest line of sanitary pads, symbolising our collective stand against period poverty. Following the record attempt, all the pads collected will be donated to local charities and community organisations, used to restock the free period products supply in our SU toilets, and be put in the Wellbeing Packages that support those who struggle to afford these essential products.

Let’s come together to take back the record, raise awareness, and make a real difference for those in need!
