Welcome to Aston University's first ever Pro Bono Group!
Pro bono - literally meaning 'for the public good' in Latin - exists in the legal system to promote free, high-quality legal advice to those who would not otherwise be able to access it.
As a consensus the Pro bono society acts strictly in spreading awareness, fundraiser for charities related to legal matters and activities for students to partake in within the university campus that will not affect or compromise the society. To heavily empathize we as students and members of the Pro Bono society will not engage in any form of legal volunteering, work or actions that can result in compromising situations for both internal and possible external individuals. The Pro bono society may in some cases act as a second law society with a more niche focus for individuals more passionate in our focus. However, there will be distinct cohesion between the two societies and not as a mere subsidiary to the society but a community with an organised focus.
Join us in our efforts to bridge the gap in legal access and advocate for those in need. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to meeting you at our next event!
