Welcome Week is one of the BIGGEST and most exciting event at Aston Students’ Union. It’s also the highlight for many students' university life. 

So, we’ve put together a list of ‘7 Top Tips’ to help you make the most out of Welcome Week – keep on reading!

 

1.) Join our Welcome Group on Instagram! 

Did you know that we have a Welcome Group on Instagram?

That’s right! You can join the Group to meet your future flatmates and coursemates and stay up to date with all the LATEST Welcome Week updates. 

The best part is that the Welcome Group is not just for new students! Any returning student is welcome to join the Group in order to hear about the latest Welcome Week updates. Join our OFFICAL Aston Welcome Group

 

2.) Follow us on social media

The best way to stay up to date with what’s happening at your SU is by following us on social media. You can follow us on InstagramTwitterFacebook and LinkedIn

 

3.) Sign up for our Welcome Week events 

From Bingo Night to Creative Wellness Walks, we’re hosting a bunch of fun and action-packed activities throughout the entire week. Make sure you look at our Welcome Week website and sign up for our events! 

 

4.) Get your Aston Welcome Wristbands! 

Celebrate the start of uni with our range of exciting night events! Starting with our opening Level Up Party at the SU to Vodbull Freshers at Rosies, you are guaranteed to make a lot of fun memories.

If you’re not into clubbing, we have many other great events you can participate in.

 

5.) Attend our Clubs and Societies Fair 

There’s no better way to make meet new people and make new friends than to attend our Clubs and Societies Fair. With over 140 student-led groups, there is something for everyone! Take a look at our Clubs and Societies

 

6.) Aston Aunties 

Don’t be afraid to reach out to our Aston Aunties! Whether you need some help getting around campus or want some handy tips for making new friends, our amazing student volunteers are here to support you. 

Our Aston Aunties will be wearing yellow t-shirts throughout the entire Welcome Week period. You can find them at the Help Desk on the Ground Floor of the SU or just outside the SU from 10am-4pm. 

 

7.) Relaxation Room 

We know that with all the hustle and bustle of Welcome Week it can sometimes feel a little bit overwhelming. Why not take a break to collect your thoughts in our Relaxation Room?

Located on the Ground Floor opposite the Student Activities Office, our Relaxation Room is perfect if you want a quick break from all the noise. 

Just walk in whenever you want to and our Aston Aunties will be there to support you.
